Chris Livanos

Chris's Story

After being a lifelong student of yoga philosophy, I took up the physical practice on a doctor’s suggestion after chronic back pain landed me in the emergency room. I fell in love with vinyasa yoga immediately. My fascination with how poses and counterposes fit into sequence and how movement links to breath led me to complete my 200-hour teacher training at Dragonfly Hot Yoga in 2015, and I have continued training with Wild Abundant Life, Hotsource Yoga, and the Center for Trauma and Embodiment. My classes emphasize the physical poses as a basis for exploring meditation, concentration, and awareness of the breath. I believe yoga is a celebration of the life force within us all, and I strive to make my classes accessible to all while also offering students the opportunity to challenge themselves in a pressure-free environment.


When I’m not doing yoga, I can be found teaching Comparative Literature, playing the saxophone, or walking my dog.
