Pilates at Capital Fitness

You’ve probably heard of Pilates by now. Maybe you’ve read about a tv star
who swears by Pilates or a sports team who uses Pilates Reformers to train in
the off-season. You know it’s good for core strength, posture and breath.
You’ve heard it helps with back and neck pain. Yet, you may still be uncertain
about what Pilates actually is. That’s because Pilates is incredibly unique as an
exercise system and the only way to really understand Pilates is to try it.

Try out our Pilates studio at Capital Fitness where we offer exceptional private
training and group classes taught by a staff of certified instructors. Our best
value is the small group equipment classes on the Reformer or Tower. You’ll
get great personal attention (class size is limited to 4 people) at the very
affordable price of $15 per class! Check out all the options below or schedule a
free orientation with one of our instructors who will help you set up a Pilates
program that fits your needs and budget.

Whether you start with a free Mat class, an equipment class, or an individualized
private session, you’ll walk out feeling stronger, standing taller and breathing
better.

Equipment Classes

What is unique about the Pilates equipment is its use of spring tension as
resistance as opposed to traditional weights. Sometimes the springs function to
challenge your strength and sometimes to aid in stretching. Working against
lighter resistance results in more emphasis on controlling movements from the
deep core muscles. You’ll find muscles you never knew you had and strengthen
or stretch areas you may have thought were a lost cause (such as tight hips or a
poochy belly). And, all the while you’ll have the focused attention of our
instructors to ensure you get the most out of each exercise.

Choose between the Pilates Reformer or Tower class or try a combo class. The
price is $18 for a single class or $150 for a 10-class punch card.

Private Training

Private training offers an opportunity to identify and explore your individual
needs. Private sessions are beneficial for learning the basics (if you are new to
Pilates), refining your strength and alignment, rehabilitating injuries and/or
learning methods of alleviating chronic pain. They are also perfect for someone
with a busy schedule who can’t always make a class. Sessions are 50-60
minutes and include exercises on the Reformer, Cadillac, Low Chair, and Mat.
